= It was not until 2001 that you started to learn English.
Dialogue
Teacher: When did you first study English?
Nam: In 2001
Teacher: So you didn’t study English before that time?
Nam: No, we didn’t.
Teacher: Yeah, so it was not until 2001 that you started to learn English.
* Rewrite the following sentences, using
‘It was not until... that...’.
She didn’t become a teacher until 1990.

3. They didn’t begin to learn English until 1980.

For lunch I had a sandwich and an apple. The sandwich wasn’t very nice but the apple is very delicious.
“A and An” are used to introduce a subject which is firstly mentioned.
A is used before words beginning with a consonant
An is used before words beginning with a vowel
“The” is used to indicate something that we have already mentioned
