    TEST 1:Direction: Indirect speech: commands, requests, advice expressed by object + infinitive
    indirect commands, requests, etc. are normally expressed by tell, order, ask, beg, advise, remind, warn, etc., with the person addressed and the infinitive. Change the following direct commands into indirect commands using this construction. Remember that the person addressed is often not mentioned in a direct command:
    He said, “Go away”, but must be mentioned in an indirect command:
    He told me (Tom / us / them, etc.) to go away.
    “Switch off the TV,” he said to her. ( he told her to switch off the T.V
    “Shut the door, Tom,” she said. ( she Tom to shut down the door.

    “Come to the cinema with me,” he asked her. ( he asked her to come to the cinema with him.
    “Cook it in butter,” I advised her. ( I advised her to cook it in butter.
    “Don’t touch the gates, madam,” said the lift operator. ( the lift operator warned the lady not to touch the gate
    “Don’t argue with me,” the teacher said to the boy. ( the teacher told the boy not to argue with him.
    “Pull as hard as you can,” he said to him. ( he told him to pull as hard as he could.
    “Send for the Fire Brigade,” the manager said to the porter. ( the manager ordered the porter to send for . . .
    “Don’t lend her anything,” he advised us. ( he advised us not to lend her
    “Make a list of what you want,” she told us. ( she told us to make a list of what we wanted
    “Look at the paper,” he said to her. ( he told her to look at the paper
    “Stand clear of the doors,” a voice warned the people on the platform. ( a voice warned the people on the platform to stand clear of the doors
